We are very excited for our concert next Thursday and have been working hard to remember our lines. - Students received an Enviro Spellathon booklet this week. We will be having a small spelling test on Sunday with words from the book.
- Everyday Math Unit 7 Written Assessment will be on Wednesday, March 4th. Please use the weekend to revise . Unit 7 Home Links can be found here.
- We will be introducing using iPads in the classroom. Permission notes must be returned to school before they can be brought in. A permission note has been sent home today and can also be found on the Home Page of our Grade 2 website.

- After school activities: If your child wishes to attend an after school activity, please return a signed note with 400AED. These clubs begin next Sunday, February 8th from 3pm - 4pm.
- Grade 2 Sports Day: Please make sure your child is wearing an orange shirt for the day. They can wear orange PE clothes if you already have as well, or their normal PE pants and shoes. Students do not need to bring their school bags but please make sure they have their water bottle and snack at school.

Congratulations to our students who worked very hard this week to learn their spelling words and basic math facts. Keep up the great work! Spelling books have been sent home today. Please cover them in clear plastic to protect them and return them to school on Sunday.

Everyday Math Reference Books have been sent home today. Please keep them at home to help with homework and to use as a guide. We loved reading them today and finding information that can help us like number squares, all about time and American money (which can be tricky here in the UAE!).
Today we had lots of fun counting money. The class is very excited to look at coins. If you have any old coins or money from another country it would be great to show the class!
We are learning to write recounts which tell the reader all about an event or a book we have read. We are making sure to include When? Who? Where? and What? information in our writing. We would like to write about an event that has happened in our lives. Please send a photo to school tomorrow from a holiday that your child has been on. Discuss when you went, who went, where did you go and what you did there. You may like to try and write this at home!
