Week of October 12-16
This week students will be going further in our Unit of Inquiry, Who We Are: People in the Community. We will be visiting the Police Station and Fire Station on Thursday, October 16. Permission forms will be sent home Sunday and asked to be returned signed with a 25 AED fee. We are looking forward to learning more about the community around us.
In math, we will be starting our next unit, Unit 2 Addition and Subtraction Facts. The students will be playing fun interactive math games to help them better understand these concepts.
With our literacy time this week we will be discussing what good readers do when reading to themselves and with others. We will be reviewing pronouns and how to use them in sentences. We will be continuing to build on our reading stamina by practicing reading for longer time each day.
As always, be sure to practice the spelling words each night as well as the basic math facts. We will have a test Thursday to review this. Spelling words can be found in the weekly overview section on the Weebly site, as well as the daily homework.
Have a great week!!
